By Rabbi Gabriel Marzel
THE MISSIONARY'S PRIMARY purpose is to proselytize others. Naturally, the more people he convinces, the more successful he is. Therefore, it behooves him to prey on such vulnerable individuals as the lonely, the elderly, the poor, the emotionally unstable, the naive, or those who are just untutored in Scripture. These unfortunates are lured into accepting missionary doctrines out of emotional need, not intellectual conviction. For even after a superficial reading of missionaries' textual "proofs" within context, one sees that their doctrines are founded solely upon misquotations and mistranslations of Hebrew Scripture.
Many missionary cults use psychological indoctrination or "brainwashing" techniques to obtain their quotas. This process usually begins by luring their victims to the cult's center, away from family, friends, and familiar surroundings. Upon arriving, they are assigned a "companion" of the opposite sex, who is to program the cult's beliefs, accomplishments, and goals into their thought processes by monotonous repetition day and night. Subjects are also deprived of sleep and food, thereby substantially lowering their mental and physical resistance. During this period, the other cult members make them feel loved, wanted, needed, and "privileged" to help bring the cult's "sacred" message to the world.
Within a few days, each innocent victim is mentally and physically broken, and becomes one of them!
One can only feel saddened at this unfortunate phenomenon, especially, because if only these people had been armed with prior knowledge of missionary tactics -- particularly how they misinterpret the Hebrew Bible to serve their goals - all of this would have been avoided.
Therefore, I wholeheartedly urge that Their Hollow Inheritance, which is encyclopedic in scope, be as widely distributed as possible, for only the knowledgeable are immune from this missionary onslaught.
This anthology, written in a clear and concise format, is designed to to serve as a reference manual - to know at a glance what Christian missionaries espouse, and how to answer them.
Their Hollow Inheritance features:
- The astonishing parallels between the New Testament narratives and the ancient texts of the Hindus and Buddhists.
- The true meaning and intent of the Hebrew Bible verses quoted in the New Testament and by Christian missionaries to support their claims.
- The Noahide Covenant - The Divine Code of Law for non-Jews which was given to Moses on Mount Sinai.
- The Messiah and the Messianic Era - according to the Rabbis.
The author expresses his deepest gratitude to the following individuals for their advice, encouragement, and editorial assistance: Elka Leah Drazin, Carmel Kahati, Baruch Lipsitz, Rachel Shahmoon, Zev Wadden and Daniela Zilkha.
O L-rd, my strength and stronghold, my refuge in day of trouble, nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say: "Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity, and worthless things. Shall a man make for himself gods? Such are no gods!"
